Teusink named President & CEO at PHTS
Brian J. Teusink, CPA, CCM, AIAF, senior executive vice president at PHT Services, Ltd. since 2006, has been named president & CEO at PHTS. He replaces David Dodge, who retired earlier this year.

The PHTS board made the announcement following its March 23 meeting. “Brian brings exceptional skills and experience to his new position,” notes PHTS board chair Jay Bikofsky. “As a financial man, he is thoroughly familiar with all operational details of PHTS, PHT, and PHLIP. We could not have found a more solid candidate,” he adds.

Teusink joined Palmetto Hospital Trust in 1992 as controller and in 1993 played a key role in the creation of PHT Services, Ltd. as a risk management services company. He has progressively assumed more responsibilities over the past 20 years.

He was also instrumental in the creation of Palmetto Healthcare Liability Insurance Program in 2001, and its evolution in 2006 when PHLIP established its wholly-owned subsidiary, PHLIP SPC, a Cayman Islands-domiciled segregated portfolio company. Most recently, he played a leading role in establishing the Palmetto Healthcare Stop-Loss Program Segregated Portfolio (PHSLP SP), a medical stop-loss program for organizations self-insured for employee benefits.

A graduate of Western Michigan University, Teusink is a Certified Public Accountant, a Licensed Life, Accident & Health Insurance Agent, a Certified Cash Manager, and an Associate in Insurance Accounting and Finance. In 1983 he was named as one of the Outstanding Young Men of America. He resides in Chapin, South Carolina with Barbara, his wife of 25 years.
